Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

You saying your prayers each evening and eating your Wheaties each morning??

I'm sending all my extra positive energy your way Durian. You are probably one of many trying to make that particular train... but if I do find the odd extra one about you will get a heads up.

Good luck

I had one. It's pretty neat, but not really all that special. The neck profile is like most strats - fairly thin and only 22 frets. The switching system is pretty neat. It's no X-350 or X-390 Pantera.

He bloody did!! Shocked Laughing Should we ban him!!!?? Laughing Laughing

I can't see the FX being all that different to the LX at any sort of stage volume; all that crap about set and thru-neck sustain goes right out the window when you plug in, gothrough the pedalboard then through the soundboard, etc. etc....

...so I reckon widen your search parameters to include the LX... if a H/S/H is what you want, and you could even widen it further if you'd be happy with a H/S/S in an MX or SX....

They are fine guitars. Some Westone designs really stand out. Others are fine instruments whose design is nothing special.

I didn't say it sucked. I said it wasn't all that special. And your interpretation of my statement really depends on your definition of 'special'.

Sometimes 'special' means above average or unique or distinguished by some unusual quality.

And sometimes 'special' means you get to ride on the short bus.

BOOYAH!!

Looking into the Electra Phoenix models may be proper recourse if your Spectrum is hard to find. I have an x185 and it is a very nice player (so says my beloved).

There is an x199 on the bay right now you should check into Durian...

By all accounts from those in the know on the Electra Forums one heck'uva mean machine.

Spectrum FX wanted Empty Any offer in Europe?

Post by durian Sun Aug 07, 2011 4:45 am

Thank you to all with your fast and good replies.

This would be the one I am looking for.
Unfortunately forgot to say, if this beauty is in the US it doesn't help me because of the additional shipping, tax and custom expenses.

I am located in Germany. Any FX in Europe would be best.

Thanks again. This is a great forum!

Yeah, shipping and import charges would dampen things abit. Your chances of finding a Phoenix over there are somewhat lessened as well. The majority of Electra guitars are found over here in the states as SLM imported them only into the U.S. I believe.

Good hunting Durian. Yours is out there.. unfortunately it will be in the last place you look for it. No

He'd have difficulty finding a Phoenix, but Spectrums were more widespread.

Spectrum FX wanted Empty bought in TX

Post by cancelman5150 Wed Aug 10, 2011 3:35 pm

Funny that no matter where they are posted, an FX will generate attention from everyhwere. I just bought this FX that was on Craigslist here in the Dallas, TX area. Its nicer than the pics he had sent me last week, so very pleased. Will keep an eye out for any more FX sightings and good luck with the European search.
