I was doing some research on a musician I saw last night, and decided to check out the guitar company he's endorsing; much to my surprise, they are producing a Raider look-alike! It's not exactly the same, as the headstock is different, there are more frets, and the paint is boring, but otherwise the body, including the pickups, knobs, and switch positioning, looks exactly like a Raider.

You can click "a Raider look-alike" in the middle of that paragraph to see the instrument in question. Due to the extra frets the cutaway is much deeper, but otherwise it just screams Raider.

Also, why are links on this forum so close in color to the standard text? Half the time I either don't realize there is a link, or I have to search for it.

The whole body seems to have been stretched out, and as you say the headstock is different... and hideously ugly, but yeah, it does scream 'Raider', eh!!

Yes, you are correct. I didn't ever know that was a link. Usually the color of ink will be bright Blue,
so as to signal the user that this is a link to whatever.

The lookalike headstock is hideous ugly, like those death metal scorpions.
For me, The original Westone Raider II has more class and charactor. I love the Westone headstock!.
Thanks for the great Photos!
Happy New Year!

"Metal" guitar headstocks tend to be pretty awful, just look at BC Rich and Dean models. The original Raider headstock is very unique and much easier on the eyes, so I quite like it. As for the elongated body, why is it that pointy instruments seem to require being ridiculously huge? My Dimension bass is longer than my 12-string bass!

Hi Kevin and everybody else.

I suggest when you add a link, try highlighting it and either click on the Bold or colour tabs at the top so that it is easier to see.

The more I research the Raider the more I find look alikes, Ibanez had the XV500, not dead on but it's close. And a company called Lado have the Earth, again similar but not dead on. I love them all! cheers
I was a member of another forum with one of the guys from Halo guitars and I think what they do is simulate popular guitar designs and make extended ranges (7, 8 or more strings) that the other companies won't offer.
