Spectrum 111 Trem arm
Just won a Spectrum 111 off ebay, and I know it is missing the tremolo arm. Are these a standard fit item or are they specifically ones to fit a Westone trem?
In other words will a standard Strat type trem arm fit into the hole?
Looking forward to getting it, it needs a bit of work on the electrics, but it is a player, it is a 1984/85 and it will join my Concord 1 in my small but growing Westone collection.
Anyone have any ideas on the trems on these, thanks?

Re: Spectrum 111 Trem arm
We'll need to know what bridge it has before we know which bar will fit; the Bendmaster Deluxe have a bar that is available through the likes of Stewmac - imported 6mm; anyway; show us what you've got!!

Yes! Bring on the visuals. We are gluttons for pictures here. Perhaps a link to your completed win may have the answer if that axe is not yet in hand.
Re: Spectrum 111 Trem arm
I'll post some when it arrives as the listing pic was pretty grainy. As far as I can see it is a non-locking one, with 2 bolt pivot.
It isnt like other Spectrums I have seen, as it has the shorter horned body like the Thunders. In fact it looks like a Thunder with an extra single coil in the middle, and a 6 a side headstock, that matches the body colour.
Cant wait to get it, and get it working

Re: Spectrum 111 Trem arm
Ha!! Exactly my thoughts, WB... if so, I think the arm is like the FT one?? The 2 post Bendmaster were available on the GT and it has a bar like my FT equipped LX...

Re: Spectrum 111 Trem arm
These will fit that bridge, if it's the same.
They'll also fit the Bendmaster Deluxe.

Yours is the high end version of the short lived 1984 Spectrum models, apparently they were discontinued to make way for the later Spectrum models.
I have the '84 Spectrum II version and it's a fantastic guitar. It's a mix of a Concord and a Thunder but with features of the later Spectrum models.
You don't see many of them around so you have quite a rare Westone in your collection

Re: Spectrum 111 Trem arm
Wow, thanks you've got me stoked even more on this one.
I just saw it listed with 15 mins to go at an odd time, and put a bid in.
I love Westones, as I played one for a while in the mid 80s as a backup guitar. I didnt own it as it was a borrowed guitar, but I always liked it, and I just love idiosyncratic guitars.
My main love is Teles, but I also love oddball guitars too. Particularly when they are well made.
Like Westones are.
It'll also be the first guitar in my collection with a vibrato, apart from the Squier Tele I have with a Bigsby (which doesnt really count)
I promise that pics will be forthcoming

Re: Spectrum 111 Trem arm
Thanks for all the help folks, got a new vibrato arm fitted, got the electrics sorted, and its up and playing nicely now.
All I might do is swap out the nut, as the string spacing is a bit narrow, and one of the slots has worn a bit deep.
I need to find a black colour nut, or maybe I should simply use a bone one and colour it.
Still looking out for more Westones, theres a nice black thinder on ebay right now........
