Pantera x 300 fret wire
Two Pantera's, same year but with different fret wire. Neither have been refretted.
Re: Pantera x 300 fret wire
That's odd eh?
Whatcha reckon...supply problem, or a custom buildl?

Re: Pantera x 300 fret wire
It's impossible to tell from the photo's what the difference is in the fretwire. Assuming that one looks wider than the other to you, have you taken a Vernier Calliper and measured the width of them on both guitars to see if there is a difference? You may find that one set of frets have been re-dressed which would give them the illusion of being wider. It's just a thought.

Yes, it's obvious to me too from the photo's... one Pantera has fretwire and so has the other one! Is one set of frets wider than the other? Come on Westblown give us a result of a proper test.

Re: Pantera x 300 fret wire
No they havn't been 'stoned'. You want to look at the ends umpdillyv500.
The white one measured .080. The red one .118. The red one is now in the hands on a proud owner on this site.
Prefer the white, thinner one's.
Anyone ever played a 6 string fretless guitar not a bass??

Re: Pantera x 300 fret wire
That would make me even more confused than trying to figure out the control settings on my Spectrum GT!Westbone wrote:...Anyone ever played a 6 string fretless guitar not a bass??
'Twould be very shmooth, but there would be a lot of "sliding" notes methinks. "It's there, somewhere!"
Just 'bin going through the real life version of this in the past 24 hours. Not laughing ATM.Do like your avatar umpdv500. Every time I look at it, it makes me laugh

That sounds like a slide and a duck on steroids.
Sounds amazing, nothing to do with the guys playing mind!! Excellent.
I'd love to have a go. Must take some 'feel' though.
Talk about fretless wonder type neck
