Just to say how sadly missed Gary Moore will be. One of the greatest guitar players ever with one of the greatest guitar tones ever. He was my first guitar hero and still is. May his music remain forever.

RIP Gary.

One of the all-time greats. I saw him at the Birmingham NEC a few years back supporting BB King. Fantastic show.

I never managed to get to see him live, but loved the improvised changes he could add to solos/melodies that made the live performances so special - I've seen many live videos.

Oh cr@p! This is the first I've heard.
What a goddamn loss, and far too young.

Now I've really got the blues.

Wow, I would have guessed heart problems. He must have been a heavy smoker, no?

I'll be watching his Live at Montreux DVD tonight and no doubt raising a glass or two of Glenlivet in Gary's memory.

update
He did die of a heart attack, not Emphysema as reported above. No matter. He's not coming back to argue the point. Sad

Thanks for that link Munkie Man! That's the first I've seen it.
Two icons in one clip...Gary and the Lemon Drop LP.
Just brilliant playing. Took my breath away, wow!

When I had heard and was sharing the news with an friend of mine I learned as well that I didn't know my friend so well. I had to describe his playing style, his career and so on for him to catch on. Sad on both accounts. His memory will live on as long as I have breath I can guarantee that!!

Oh, you must watch and listen to his work...extraordinary.

As for the video, excellent playing. Great cover.
The guitar is identical to my #1 Westone, same year too. Sounds terrific!
