BASS - Thunder 1A Bass hard case... Empty Thunder 1A Bass hard case...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Westone-Thunder-1A-Hard-case-/320577190834?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories

Herewith a hard case for a Thunder 1A Bass.

Now follows a question or two:
1. Is anyone on here bidding on it, or interested in bidding on it?
2. I am not a bass player, or owner, I have a Westone Thunder IIIA, without any kind of case. To me, the shape of the body of the bass is very similar to that of my Thunder. Not the same, but close. What are people's opinions on whether it would be a good fit to buy this case for my IIIA 6 stringer for safety whilst transporting to and from gigs? I was thinking the extra neck length in the case would be good for a wrapped pedal, or cables, or even just a towel...
3. Following on from the thoughts above. If it isn't a good idea to use a bass case for a standard guitar, does anyone have a hard or flight case suitable for a Thunder IIIA that they want to get rid of? Willing to pay the going rate. If it is an official Westone case, even better, but any case that the guitar will fit in it, I am interested. PM me!

I am aware that this might or should be in the 'Wanted' section. If that is the case I apologise. I was going to post it twice, but thought that might be even more rude!

I think generally speaking a bass case is a bit of overkill since the neck is longer. Kind of like wearing yer daddy's shoes when you were a kid. Razz

When I first got my Spectrum ST they gave me a bass case because they were out of stock on the guitar cases. It was OK but mostly a nuisance as it rattled around a bit and was too long; kept smacking into doorways and lofting the small cuddly animals that inhabited my house at the time! It wasn't an OHSC, so that may have made some difference, but probably best to get a guitar case. I have an OHSC for my Thunder but I would think a Strat type should do the trick?

I might trip along to a guitar shop with it one day soon and see what it fits in.

Where did you get your OHSC? Did it come with the guitar?

BASS - Thunder 1A Bass hard case... Empty Re: Thunder 1A Bass hard case...

I have a Thunder bass case, normally keep my Thunder II bass in it, just tried my Thunder IIA 6 string and Thunder III, and the bodies fit perfectly, with about 8 inches of free space between the end of the headstock and the end of the case. Bodies fit well enough that there's almost no movememnt of the guitar when carrying the case.

The last Westone bass case I saw on ebay.co.uk went for £75 plus about £20 postage - I would imagine it's perfectly possible to get a non original hard case for much less than that, just need to cut some foam to surround the guitar to keep it in place.

If you really want this one, I'd ask the seller about the postage costs, they don't seem to have said how much it would be.
