I got me a pink guitar!
Well it finally happened, I've got my first effeminate guitar!
It's a 1984 Peavey Horizon II finished in what's officially known as Rose Pearl. The build quality and condition is stunning, and it plays like a dream. That colour changes from an orange shade off the light to a frost pink when the light shines on it. The only thing missing is the trem arm but an email to Peavey in the US has given me the part number I need.
Not much else to say really, although I think my family might be starting to worry about me!!!
I await your piss taking and all the girls names you can call me, I don't care!!!

I found this in my local Crap Converters, we don't seem to get many US made Peaveys in the UK so I couldn't miss the chance of getting my grubby mitts on it. Unfortunately I'm still out of work at the moment so it's pushed me that bit closer to complete poverty

Wow, that's a beauty! Nice score there, Dan. I'm a fan of 80s Peaveys myself.

Re: I got me a pink guitar!
I bought a Peavey Patriot bass I thought was pink a couple years ago, but it turns out the lighting was just playing tricks on me; when I got it home and opened it up, it was blood red. I did a double take, but hey, $100 for a USA Peavey with the ohsc is pretty good to me! I still want a pink bass, though.

Re: I got me a pink guitar!
Oooh you swine, I'm gonna mince me way down to Cardiff and give you such a slappin'!!!
Yeah, I knew I was in for a ribbing buying this but I can honestly say it's completely worth it, nearly every part on this thing is unique to Peavey and it all works a treat. The fact it's in a challenging shade of pink is a bonus! My think my next few guitars will have to be finished in a very manly jet black. (Or lavender if I'm really on the turn )
Late last year I also bought a Fender Cyclone II, a short scale Duo-sonic style body loaded with three Jaguar pickups in a aged pearl plate and a Strat trem. This is finished in a fetching pastel shade of Daphne Blue with competition strips!
I haven't got pics of that one yet but me and my bro' are trying to work out a way to take some group shots of all our guitars in the same place. Between us our joint stupidity has landed us with 62 guitars in total! Several are incomplete and in need of work but it would be cool to try and picture them all together, I think I'm going to have to settle for shots of them in groups of five to ten. I might post a few of them if it ever happens.

Re: I got me a pink guitar!
There's a cobber of mine here in Australia with a similar problem; he is displaying his collection at a fair and has combined his lot with another lot, the end result being over 72 guitars on display!! The folk at Matsumoku have had a great time 'helping' him with the photography issue, eh!!
However, I'm sure you can still buy panoramic film cameras for bugger-all; I have a lens for my DSLR that does it, but that would be an expensive exercise for you guys for a few shots! You could also ask a pro photog for a price....?
That said, looking forward to seeing them, Dan!!

Re: I got me a pink guitar!
It's not so much the photo taking that would be a big issue, it's the logistics involved in setting up that many guitars (bearing in mind I don't have 62 stands!), and preferably it would be outside in natural light.
Unfortunately I happen to live in England and to be more accurate, the north east of England, it's not known for it's fine weather. Summer up here in the north seems to show up for two weeks in July! The rest of the time it looks just like it does in autumn.
I could prop them up around the back yard against walls and other stuff, but with my luck one will fall into another and I could end up with a very elaborate domino style toppling experiment, not a nice thought

OK, then... Don is building a set of stands for his display; I think the guitars will be flat on tables and he is making an affair that will hold them up by the neck joint for display purposes. Do you want me to put you in contact with him - he's a great guy and a very helpful sort of cove!!??
