Vantage X-99B Headless pickups

Just joined. Don't know why I haven't long ago...

I got recently one beautiful X-99B Headless Fretless, but the original pickups have been replaced with active EMGs at some point.

I know that the chances to find the originals are slim to none, but I would be grateful if anyone responds.

Uh, you are referencing a Vantage model, which may have been made by Matsumoku depending on the year, but is not part of the Westone line and so not covered on this site.

Many of us have Vantage instruments though (myself included) so maybe one of our bass playing members will have a recommendation for you.

I'm not a bass player but I gotta say that Westone had some of the most daring models on the market.
Sure everyone loves a Fender P Bass, but c'mon, these basses are bad ass beauties!

I have a sneaking suspicion that the X-99 may have been a Chushin build, not Matsumoku; I know my X-99 guitar certainly is…

Depends on when they were made, as I found out:

But since I can't see the serial number anywhere on the bass, you may be right.

I missed out on an X99b earlier this year. Been wanting to add one to my collection, but they don't come up too often.
