pickup - Neck pickup as Bridge pickup? Empty Neck pickup as Bridge pickup?

Is anybody here used an mmk neck pickup as the bridge pickup? I have an mmk53 neck pickup that I was considering using as a bridge pickup. Before I open everything up and do the surgery, I wanted to ask here first.

A purist would say affraid
Sure, you can get all testicle and talk about E to E measurements and DC resistance and all that. But in the final analysis if it sounds good, who really gives a &**()!?

A lot depends on what sort of music you're playing and what you expect out of the pickup. I have a "true" UBC MMK45 wound by our own Westbone which, testically, should go in a neck position. But it isn't. It's in the bridge position on a Westone X125 (single pupper). And it sounds just fine!

In the final analysis, let yer ears be yer guide. Dumbo

Yeah... my Raider restore has 2 neck position 45s and sounds just fine! The difference in pole to pole measurement between neck and bridge is very little, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't make much difference.

I counted myself lucky to get 2 MMK 45s for less than a kings ransom - one was free, and the other was about A$40...
