Long shot I know, but if there's a spare out there, preferably brass nut, non bird logo and decent fretlife I'd be more than willing to pay a fair price. Long story..moving house and had it in soft case. It's the clear red guitar withe the centre stripe..active gainj too so gutted.

Holy sh*t Batman. How bad's the break/crack?

Have been looking for the same type neck for awhile.
You'll be very lucky to find one(like that) or even a whole guitar.

Had to settle for a Thunder neck that'll be redone to match.

long story, and i think that's what i'm going to have to do too westbone. To be fair it was right on the edge of a refret and board sorting out.

So any spare thunder necks out there with some life in them? preferably script not bird and brass nut with working truss rods and frets in decent nick? UK, fair price will be paid.

Can't be so bad it can't be saved, surely?

Can be saved, but also in need of refret and board reradius in next year or so. might be one for shoving under the bed and pulling out in ten years time for a restore, it's a crack running down bass side of headstock, nothing major, I can sort that. board and frets have had a long paper round though.

Hmm, if a collector of your standing is having difficulty getting their hands on one, then i think i'm inclined to pay the money to get it back into shape, sorry Westbone. I know it doesn't make financial sense, but I'm sure 20 years on i'll look back and think i made the right choice there.

sorry Westbone

Pretty sure it's a model 2 T1A, the body is in  what you''d probably call B stock if it was new, not bad for a 31 year old. The rosewood is thick enough to level out any gouges and with a full refret the guitar will have come in at under £380.

Not cheap, but money isn't the prime motive here, I just want a beautiful guitar, and who knows, by the time it's turned 50 people might appreciate how well these guitars were made, and there won't be many about..because we'll own about 80% of them left by that time anyway lol. Bought a real clean T1a V3 this week and an 84 Concord 1 as well this week. I think i'm coming down with GAS.

Prestige next, or Paduak, or MIJ clipper. Yup definitely GAS.

Finally a right handed thunder neck on the bay. Admittedly I havent exactly been scouring the internet for one. Wrong colour mind, but if i get it , it'll be going to Steve robinson in Manchester, see if he can work something magic on it (Thouroughly top bloke)

Not prepared to go into ridiculous crazy prices for it though.

Not perfect by any means, but a guitar brought back to life, even if the parts aren't for purists. Took me long enough to find a brass nut, script logo neck in the first place in he frst place, i think I'd be  bald by the time the exact part came up
