MMK pickups Empty MMK pickups

Post by Steve777 Tue May 05, 2009 9:11 pm

I've been reading that Maxon (Nisshin Onpa) were contracted to supply some of the pickups for Matsumoku. Just a thought, is Maxon one of the M's in MMK? I've always been curious as to what MMK stood for?

Any ideas?

Interesting! hummmmm...... Another thing I've wondered about is the MMK's that came in the old Kramer Focus guitars. I have compared, visually, a humbucker from a old Westone against one from a old Focus. They had identical markings on them. But yet sounded completely different. With the Focus pickup being little more hot and edgy.

That's an odd one, too - would you be able to whack a meter on it and see what values it has, please? Here's the only guitars I could find with that style of p'up...

Sorry Silence, I just recently bought it to put it in a vantage guitar....

Here is a link to the Knight Warrior guitar:

http://www.matsumoku.org/models/ariaproii/ads/adpages/pg4.html

Also, since yours only has 2 screws to attach to the pick up ring, yours is most likely a bridge pick up that came from the Knight Warrior. The other blade pick ups that I've seen all had 3 or 4 mounting screws. Mine has the same wirering as yours, red, white and ground. Measured at 11

I could be wrong but I think you have a bridge pup?

Hope this helps!

Always happy to help out! MMK pickups Icon_biggrin

Great price on your new bridge pup!... I hope that he will send you the mounting ring with the pup since your new one has 4 screws for the height adjustment... MMK pickups Icon_scratch
