essential other kit
I recently treated myself to a BOSS micro BR-80 (same as the e band but without speakers.)
This fancy gadget has numerous functions including an on-board guitar effects processor, metronome, tuner etc
It's also a digital recorder and 8 track mastering studio but far and away the most useful feature to me so far as a relative newbie is the facility to upload mp3 tracks to it which I can play over the top of. (badly)
The real killer is the speed function which allows me to slow the tracks down without changing the pitch which actually gives my fingers a fighting chance of keeping up with the music.
It was a bit of an extravagance when I bought it but I wouldn't be without it now and use it daily.
What is your killer piece of kit (beside the guitar!) that you wouldn't be without now.

There's a few, actually.... glass 4th finger slide, Alesis synthesiser, AKG D190 microphones and 6 string lap steel. I was never, ever a skilled lead guitarist; rather I fancied myself as a colourist able to add whatever tbe band felt a song needed....
Those modern digital devices have become popular since I stopped regular practice/gigging, but they sound like a real giggle; the only thing I've got remotely similar is an Alesis drum machine...

M-audio oxygen 25, midi control of Amplitube amps (no more reaching for the mouse) and fun with softsynths to boot. Picked mine up for £30, worth every penny if you're using software.

The live rig at the moment is a Pod HD500 driven by a pair of tech21 power engines and a trusty old, road worn 1970's Dunlop crybaby. Overall very versatile and easy to use. I also sometimes put a Seymour Duncan pickup booster in line just to thicken up the sound when needed. For blues/jazz gig's it's just an old Roland Jazz chorus 60, a lead and the guitar.....no fuss

Mobius Software looper which is an amazing freebie. The things you can do with it are far beyond anything a hardware looper will do. 8 tracks with 8 loops in each, synchronised, speed up, slow down, reverse loops.

That looks a great piece of software westcoaster, just running through the manual. Looks sorta like a bunch of the EHX 45000s linked and synced. I'll be having some fun with this.

My "wouldn't be without" is the BBE Sonic Stomp.
Try one. Just enhances everything and makes it come more alive.

Reading the reviews folks seem to prefer it last in the chain, how do you find it works with clean tones? The Chad wrote:My "wouldn't be without" is the BBE Sonic Stomp.

Hey Meadows. Yep, it's last. Clean tones is useful as well, although it's more useful with overdrive. It just adds that "ah, there it is" to your tone.
