Several reasons really. I have been on holiday and just got back today.

Before that, I had quite a high turnover of tenants with my property rental business. When tenants move out, I always have work to do on the properties- sometims a little and sometimes a lot and that has to take priority.

But I have still been lurking, though not saying much.

I started renting properties about 10 or 11 years ago while I was still working. I invested all of my retirement lump sum in more properties.

It certainly beats working for someone for a living, but it has its pitfalls.

If you cannot abide cleaning up after people then it is not for you.

The old Rachman image is completely false. I have never increased a rent and have had some tenants for the full ten years.

I have had some good decent tenants but many are dirty lazy bastards will not clean even a fridge or a cooker during their tenancy and get most upset when you tell them that they aint getting their full deposit back.

Nah Dude - They don't lie empty - They are all usually fully occupied with short voids in between tenants.

Empty flats are a liability rather than an asset.
