I meant Gumtree use the "more than..xx..days old" thing, I just added the More than bit myself.

I have made contact, and as you suggest I will be making a substantially lower offer than his asking price, just awaiting a response.

Gotta get the lacquer off first.

Here's a pile of 'em. Note the two at the top right, well tarnished on the edge, with lacquer worn. That's why they got thrown away back in the day.

I always leave them in thinners for an hour or so.
Clean the sides with a brass wire brush.
Polish up the top and relacquer. Good as new. Smile
