I was given an old Aria Jazz copy from a friend. It has no serial (which he claims means it's a '69 or '70) and just has a bland silver neckplate that says Made in Japan. I am assuming this is an Uncle Matt, but I'm not really sure. It's very much thrashed, I can say that much. The only telltale sign other than the MIJ neckplate is the neck being 3-piece maple. I'd like to know for sure what I've got, even if it is in horrible condition (at least it works).

I had not! Thank you. It would seem that the bass in question is a very very poor example of a model 1540 J-copy.
