Rainbow 2 1987
OK this is my first post.
Amazing to find this site. I had a left handed Westone Rainbow 2 circa 1987 which I bought new finished in Tobacco Sunburst. I loved it, I replaced the pickups in it for Gibson PAF 57 gold tops which really made it raunchy. The fit and finish was really very good, better in fact than the real Gibson Les Paul Standard I replaced it for. Why did I sell it . I have seen some of the examples on this site and they look amazing.
I'm going to have to buy another one now.

Re: Rainbow 2 1987
There's no chance you've still got the original pickups, is it? I'm looking for (at least) one...
There would be a chance to get one at the moment: LINK
EDIT: Oh sorry, didn't see the "left handed"...

Hey
I think I may have one of them in a bag in the roof of the house. When I get home I'll have a look. To be honest all you have to do is take the offending item out turn it over and unsolder the gold cover from the steel base and then slide to top off. Underneath you will find 2 Fender Stratocaster type pickups that can easily be replaced.
I'll have a look next week and let you know

That's awesome ...thank you for having a look. Problem is that I have a guitar that lacks a humbucker (previous owner removed it), and I want to find a MMK 75 Humbucker the guitar was delivered with.
It looks like this on the back:

Re: Rainbow 2 1987
I think Di Marzio originally made the pickups. As for the sound, well It would be different but these do look like the originals!
(I'm not allowed to post the link for 7 days as I'm new here! but you have a clue and they are easy to find on their site )
Will post next week with news from the loft
Cheers

Hi Tim,
In fact I'm not looking for a pickup that looks like the original, but I'm looking for this specific pickup the guitar was originally equipped with, so I'd be very grateful if you could have a look at it and sell it to me if it's an original MMK 75.
Cheers, Hans

Hi Tim,
just wondered if you already had time to have a look into that bag in the attic.

Hey Hans
I've looked but I have not found it, I'm sorry. I was sure that I still had one of them, to be honest if I find it you can have the thing.
Cheers for now
