If you had $1,500 - $2,000 USD to spend on yourself, what would you buy?

Suspect

A certain guitar (Westone or other)? Several guitars (Westones or others)? Amp? Project bike/car? Fix up a project you have? Lessons/classes for someting? Get your hair done all pretty?

And you can't say "I'd pay off bills with it", because that's not what the money's for, you see.

So dream a little here men, what would you do with that money?

Have you considered a Carvin? The California Carved Tops are very PRS like. And a lot prettier. Cool

Take a look see here: Carvin California Carved Top

At this point in my life, I wouldn't mind a one way trip to Hawaii.
Spent 2 weeks there in 1988 or thereabouts and have never got over it. Would love to return and stay. Smile

Wonder how much to ship 26 guitars?

I've been thinking about either a high end Pantera (if I find one, shouldn't be hard lately....), or a Custom Shop Carvin Ultra V with Deep Wine triple step quilted maple top, stainless steel frets, ebony fretboard, Floyd, Sperzels, and black hardware.

The Carvin would be jaw-droppingly gorgeous (have you seen their triple step quilted maple, it's a mile deep Shocked ), but would take all the money. The Pantera way would leave plenty left over for other goodies like a Corsair, another Dynasty, or another Dana. Smile

You betcha!! I'm still using kits for the time being. But I've got two precious books explaining how to brew from scratch... and enter a world full of joy and self-sufficiency.

What about you? Already producing industrial quantities of exquisite IPA, or maybe some Belgian high fermentation triple?

Alts and scotch ales are as heavy as I've gone in the past Beavis. Once the fermentation is producing into the tripel and barleywine ranges it gets tricky with repitching of champagne yeast cultures as they are pretty much all that can reliably reach full attenuation while withstanding the higher alcohol levels that are produced.

Ice, that does sound interesting. Hadn't thought of those issues as triple kits are common. Really makes me want to initiate this whole homebrewing business. I lack the time to do all that right now, and also the space, but am thinking of acquiring a triumph daytona (yahoooo) and would be looking for a garage, which would be a good place for my brewing experiments and would have the great virtue of being able to get a nice smooth one as soon as I get off the bike Twisted Evil

A trick I learnt from my Mum, whose been doing this for years.
Bottle of cane spirits, half a cup of sugar, suspend an orange over for about a month, change the orange, leave another month. Instant powerfull Coinreau liquor.

Just don't eat the orange Evil or Very Mad

Westbone, that sounds like pure evil Twisted Evil

Heard some other trick for "prison booze". Can't quite remember how it goes but something about putting fruit juice (fresh pressed) in a plastic bag that you twist to seal it and leave in the toilet, so it doesn't get so hot it will rot, and a few weeks after that you got yourself a drink.

yep, "prison hooch" take some gummy bears for sugar, fruit juice, a slice of bread or a sweaty sock (yes, I said sweaty sock!) for yeast and leave in a bag in the cell toilet for 2 weeks!
