Yes, they are all pretty! Looks to me like it was refinished, its a version 2 made in 82-83. Original logo is gone and the info site says they were only in bursts and black.

still baffles me why the pickguard covers the f-hole, surely either a smaller guard or a lower f-hole would have been better, a Westone design flaw?

I took mine off, it takes away from the beauty of the wood IMHO. Avatar is pre removal.

Pick guards on jazz boxes are always like this. As for "blocking" any sound, don't forget they are raised as well.
Really comes down to aesthetics.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Anyway, I tend to be opposed to anything with a pickguard, looks to jazzy for me.

Getting back to the Rainbow I for sale.

There's an access panal been cut out the back of it. Sad days...probably to get at the controls, who know what lurks in there.

I dont see a pic with a cutout in the back did you get extra pics? If it is done in a way that is nice it isn;t the end of the world, but if it is sloppy then it is a shame.

Easy Barry, Polly is watching us. Wink Where is this access panel, i only saw the 3 pics as well. That pretty ruins the guitar and the seller is an idiot for not mentioning that. "Oh by the way, somone put a saw to this guitar and cut a hole in it therefore destroying it" would be a good description.

He mentioned he's going to put some pictures up.
Reckon he certainly needs to. Be a big disappointment on collection.
Might have a go and use it for spares... Smile

There's some more pictures posted on the add.

Looks like a bad refinish.....can't see Westone(Mats) churning out something like that. Can see traces of the original reddish brown. The tailpiece looks a good bit pitted to.

Nice little inspection cut out at the back, not.

PITY.. affraid
