I love 1970s japanese guitars and was happy to find this one. I found out things about it but want to know more? I know the neck is ebony and mahogany but what is jacaranda? What did this guitr sell for in the seventies what kind of value does it have now?I bought some medium gauge strings they sound ok any suggetions in that area?I love this guitar just want to know everything about it!!!

Jacaranda a tree. Looks beautiful when in flower.

Try 10 gauge electric strings, just my preference.

Value??????????

Hows about some pictures???????

Hey Klube welcome to the forum.

Value is easy to figure out as you just recently purchased it.

Look at your reciept for your answer lies there. Razz

Please post pictures. The grain on that one must be quite lovely. Shocked

Hello klube and welcome.
Jacaranda is a variety of rosewood which I believe is/was found mainly in the South American rain forests, and is now a protected species. Guitars made with this wood are highly prized not only for their beauty but for their clarity of tone.

As for string gauge, you'll find that acoustics usually need a heavier gauge than electrics. But it's a matter of guitar playability, personal preference and your playing style. I normally use 10, 11 or 12 gauge, depending on the guitar.

Let's see some pix!!
