The guitar in question happened to belong to one of our senior and well respected members here and he was being honest in his description!

I would appreciate it if expletives were not used in these forums, regardless of how they are misspelled.

Thank you.

It was not my intention to make 'plenty of buckle rash' sound like a good thing. I was trying to describe the condition of the finish in as few words as possible. The finish is beautiful except for the buckle rash on the back. Sorry.

Maybe the fact that it didn't sell or bid up above my reserve of $450 (what I paid a year ago) will make you happier, wullybee.

Mate, there are far more constructive ways of drawing attention to a point than slinging epithets and sneering; perhaps you could take a lesson in civility by the fact that no-one had commented on it?
It's a shame that the web attracts the people who revel in the anonymity available to be offensive as well as the genuine aficionado - as a matter of interest, how many Westones do you own?

No doubt. I quit buying new guitars years ago. I can't stand taking the 'new' off of something.

BTW, it's a killer guitar. I don't know why it didn't sell. Maybe the slow economy?!?

Hey there Caucajun,

caucajun wrote:(keep it clean, now.......no vurgeon jokes, eh?)

What's that about Vurgeons then??? scratch Is that 'Vurgeon' on the ridiculous by any chance? lol! lol! lol!

I know what you mean though mate, I'd be suspicious if a twenty odd year old guitar didn't have a bit of buckle rash! Colt was deadly honest in his description of his beautiful guitar and if he lived closer, I'd have bought it!
Wink

I hope old Gustav hasn't caused you too much pain in your wallet!
Shocked

It's out there again. Reserve is $450 as is the buy-it-now. This is a bargain on a rare and fine instrument (IMHO).

Well done Robert! Very Happy

I hope the new owner appreciates and enjoys it.
Smile

It's also one in the eye for all those sceptics out there who might have thought that it wasn't worth what you were asking for it!
Razz Laughing
IMHO it was well worth every penny, and then some! Wink

Nice one!

That was fast, glad you were able to get your asking price, from the pics it looks like you gave a good deal.....
