My Rail's Quantum twin

This Quantum bass just popped up on eBay... and has the exact same serial number as my Rail! They're both #84009. Have any other matching serials like this been spotted? Also, the guy's asking price is ridiculous. And why is there only one dot at the 24th fret? My Rail has two, Strange.

My Quantum has only one dot on the 24th fret.
This is even stranger how two Quantums have the same number?
Like to hear from others on this matter.

US$750 - is he mad?! The last one I saw in NZ went for about US$200 from memory!! And it's not complete; no-one's gonna pay that sort of dosh for a guitar with that knob on there... are they?

He's definitely mad, this other Quantum just went for US$273.66, and it was complete. And considering the high bid was right around $200 when this one was posted for $750, I have no idea what the guy is thinking.

I would really like to hear more about these serial number triplets, though. My Rail bass, Thunder Jet Boy's Quantum, and this Quantum on eBay all have the serial 84009. Does anyone have an idea as to why?
