Hi, does anyone have one of these guitars for sale? I have been looking for one of these for a long time.
Thanks

I have use of a Thunder IIIv3 (almost identical to the image lower down on the page you linked to) and I love it. It is my 'go to' electric guitar over my Gibson Les Paul Voodoo.

It isn't technically mine, it is the drummer of my band's, she was given it by a boyfriend about 20 years ago and has followed her around from home to home, but never used. She donated it to be used as the 'sound' of our band. Since then, it has been cleaned, restrung, had a trem arm donated, setup and a hard case has just been purchased for it (look elsewhere on this forum for pix and stuff). It is now as close as I reckon it is possible to get to being in the state it was when bought brand new.

I have seen a few Thunder IIs and IIIs come up on the 'bay' over the past few months. I recommend keeping an eye on the 'For Sale' section, as many of the active members post things that they come across.

If I see notice of one for sale, I will post here too.

Cheers, that would be great! Also, very reassuring to hear that you favour the Thunder III over your LP.
Regards.

My Thunder is a Single Coil - Humbucker - Single Coil pickup layout, so not really the 'same' as a LP, like some of the other variations of Thunder III.

My findings, having used it for a while is that it is almost halfway between a Strat and a Les Paul. Not as 'beefy', 'loud' or able to distort as the LP, but also not quite as 'biting' or (in my mind) 'twangy' as my Strat. Which means, for me, that it is more flexible in a gig situation, so that the range of possible noises from one guitar is greater (and the rest can be driven by effects/amp). Also, I find that I am attracted to the obscure, bizarre, or different. The fact that no other guitarist I know (in real life) has one, or in many cases, has ever heard of it.

With all the switches, dials and 'unusual' pup layout, my Thunder is obscure, bizarre and different. All boxes ticked!

I knew that that comment would get a response...

I spent a while trying to figure out how to phrase something succinctly that meant 'Whose hand I have not shaken, fingers I have not seen move on a fretboard, whose guitar I have not heard give voice'

In the past 'IRL' meant 'in meatspace', or not 'cyberspace'.

On t'interweb, no one knows that you are not a dog!

That is not to say that I do not respect and appreciate all and everyone I converse with on this forum, but all I know about you is your 'nick', the pictures of your 'tars and the words with which you express yourselves.

I have one exactly like in the picture, although the pots are a bit tarnished.

It's heavy, the through neck is lovely and it's great to play.

I'm in Amsterdam, moving to London in a few weeks.
